Pulling the Plug

Necessity, as they say, is the mother of invention, and some of the ways people hid alcohol during Prohibition were quite inventive indeed. If it hadn’t all come to a fortunate end in 1933, hiding liquor might have become another major industry.

Muskrat La Framboise had one of those boats with a plug in it like a bathtub. When the police spotted him, he’d just pull the plug and the boat would sink. He’d go back to where it was later on when no one was around and he’d dive for the stuff. He was really good at this, and with the whiskey being in these jute bags and tied together at the top, the bags had these ears on them. When they were dumped overboard, you could dive down and pick them up by the ears and haul them to the surface.💸💸💸

Pulling the Plug
1 1/2 oz Redemption whiskey
1/2 oz Cardamaro
1/2 oz China China
2 dashes Whiskey Barrel aged bitters
2 dashes Chocolate Bitters

Peychaud’s Brulee for garnish

Robb Vices

📣“You, Millenials, are always busy, always on the run” my mom says to me all the time, perhaps it is so true.

Nowadays a lot of things happen online, and buying cool stuff is no exception. 🤓 Subscription services have developed as an appealing alternative to leaving the house and getting your hustle on. The home-delivery sector has blossomed with unique services, from fashion and accessories, to food, liquor, and gaming.

📦 I just received my first box from @robbvices, this company delivers a curated selection of exceptional goods with the highest quality and craftsmanship. In any given month you can expect unique food to taste, 🍾 SPIRITS to fill your glass with, as well as tools and toys that empower the ultimate host and that will make the most discerning connoisseur smile.
The September box is super cool as it contains a bottle of @donciccioefigli Cinque aperitivo. It has a bitter orange peel flavor, supported by an underlying brown sugar sweetness and a dark, earthy finish. Perfect for fans of Campari, Aperol, and Cappelletti.

🍸 This cocktail I called “Cinque du UPS”
3/4 oz Cinque aperitivo
3/4 oz Egans Irish whiskey
3/4 oz Solerno 🍊
3/4 oz Cinzano Bianco
Orange Blossom water mist

Peace Pours

Today is the united nations World Peace Day, and drinkstagramers from all over the world will be joining hands (or cocktails) in an IG flashmob embodying and encouraging the idea of World Peace with the hashtag #peacepours

This one is dear to my heart as I have seen what greed for power does to a country. It destroyed an economy, brought hunger to its people, separated families, inticed war on the streets, parents burying their children is not the curse of nature. We put people in power to guide us towards a bright and a more prosperous future not to chaos, hunger, and war. There is no way to peace. Peace is the way. Venezuela wake up! 💛💙

My cocktail is called “Lejos Pero No Ausente” it roughly translate to “I am far away but I am not absent”

I am using Venezuelan Rum @rondiplomatico exclusiva // @giuliococchi Barolo Chinato // @giffardusa Crème de Fraise des bois // @angosturahouse bitters .

Special thanks to @theamaturemixologist for organizing such a great campaign.
